Our Cloths

At Gresham Blake, we believe exceptional tailoring begins with exceptional cloth. We work with some of the world’s finest mills, offering everything from classic worsteds and tweeds to luxurious wools and vibrant mohair.

For over 25 years, we’ve built strong relationships with renowned mills including Dormeuil, Holland & Sherry, Scabal, Lea Brown, and Dugdale, giving our clients access to some of the best fabrics available.

With thousands of fabrics to choose from, selecting the right cloth can feel daunting. Our tailoring team will guide you based on your needs, whether you’re looking for something lightweight, luxurious, textured, or suited to a particular season or occasion.

What To Expect

Consultation
Your first consultation usually lasts around two hours, allowing time to explore fabrics, discuss design details, and take precise measurements. The appointment is relaxed, informative, and completely without obligation.

Lead Time
Most bespoke and made-to-order suits take around 6–8 weeks from consultation to completion. If you are working to a shorter deadline, we can advise on this during your appointment.

Pricing
Bespoke suits start from £900, crafted using modern tailoring techniques. For those who prefer a more traditional construction such as a full floating canvas we’re happy to discuss this during your consultation, or when you book your appointment, along with any additional hand-finished details like hand-sewn buttonholes.

Most clients typically invest between £1,000 and £1,800, depending on fabric choice and design preferences.

Bespoke Cloth & Coat

How long does it take to make a bespoke suit?

The process usually takes 6-8 weeks from the moment we receive the cloth. This may change depending on the workload at different times of the year. During your initial consultation, we will give you a target date for completion. When the suit is finished, it may be necessary to have several fittings to ensure it fits perfectly.

I need a suit urgently, can you help?

We understand that there are times when you may require an urgent suit order. We offer an 'express suit order service' and can, upon request, make a Bespoke Suit within a short time. We have a UK workshop with a team of expert tailors and craftsmen. This service may cost more than a regular suit order, but we guarantee that the quality of the suit will be of the same high standards. (Our express charges are available upon request)

Do I have to have an appointment?

We always recommend booking an appointment in advance. We can accommodate walk-in customers in our Brighton Store but for our London store, we do require that you book an appointment in advance. You can easily book online here or call us on 01273 609587.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring along any inspiration images you have, as they can help us understand the look you’re aiming for. For fittings, we also recommend bringing the shoes you plan to wear with your suit, along with any accessories you’d like to style it with, so we can get the overall look and fit just right.

How long will my consultation be?

We offer a two-hour consultation in a private room with a dedicated bespoke consultant. This allows you the time to discuss your ideas and consider all the options available to you. The two-hour consultation is ample time to leave with a clear vision of what you want from your bespoke experience. However, if you need more time our consultants are more than happy to accommodate this.

What cloth options do you have?

We stock all major UK mills, including Holland and Sherry, Scabal, and Dormeuil. We provide an exclusive selection of cloths that are carefully sourced from the most prestigious mills throughout the UK and Europe. For those looking for something truly unique, we offer a bespoke cloth design service. Our experienced designers will work closely with you to create a fabric that meets your exact specifications. Our experienced team will help you select the perfect colour, weave and weight to create a fabric that is both individual and luxurious.

Can I bring my own cloth?

Absolutely, however, it is important to make sure that your chosen cloth is suitable for your individual requirements before commencing any garment project. The material should not only be suitable in terms of its thickness, colour and pattern, but also its ability to hold its shape without stretching or shrinking. If you are able to provide your own cloth, you must ensure it meets all these criteria.

How much does a bespoke suit cost?

We offer high-quality tailoring at competitive prices. Our prices start from £700 for a two-piece suit and most people spend between £1000 to £1800, depending on the cloth chosen.

What are your payment terms?

We require a 50% deposit. This will be applied towards your final balance. We do offer the option to pay in full upfront, fro which we offer a 5% discount. We understand that payment terms are important to our customers and we are happy to tailor them to meet individual needs.

Do you offer group discounts?

We offer great discounts on group orders for those looking to buy multiple garments for their wedding party. Our group discounts are available to anyone looking to purchase multiple garments.
