Shakeable Germ – An Infectious Creative Collective

Produced and Directed by Gresham Blake | Directed by Kenny McCracken

🦠 What is Shakeable Germ?

Shakeable Germ is an inclusive promotional concept collective — a group of musicians, actors, producers, and other creatives experimenting outside their usual genres to create bold new music and visuals.

Overall produced and creatively directed by Gresham Blake, the name itself is an anagram of Gresham Blake — a playful nod to how creativity spreads: unpredictable, collaborative, and gloriously contagious.

Born from a coffee conversation between Gresham Blake and Jason Phats (Phats & Small), the idea evolved into a series of tracks, films, and collaborations that blur the lines between fashion, music, and art.

🎵 The Tracks

Quintessentially British

Featuring Steve Coogan

The debut single that started it all — a tongue-in-cheek anthem of eccentric pride, starring Steve Coogan in a brilliantly satirical video that captures what it means to be “Quintessentially British.”

Dead Redemption

Featuring Laurie Vincent (Slaves), Phats & Small, and Scarlett Quinn

A darker, more cinematic follow-up, “Dead Redemption” dives into themes of reinvention and self-confession — part punk theatre, part late-night fever dream.

Grime & Chime

Produced by Footsie and Phats & Small

A mash-up of pure energy. Built around Orbital’s legendary “Chime,” and featuring D Double E and Footsie of The Newham Generals, this one’s a sonic riot — with a video that’s pure joy.

Cameos from: Slaves, Ray Winstone, Laura Whitmore, Fatboy Slim, Mark Williams, Rag’n’Bone Man, and even Ren & Stimpy.

We’re Going Out

Sung by Atlanta | Directed by Kenny McCracken

Written during lockdown, this track captures the euphoric moment of breaking free — stepping back into the world after isolation. A soulful, powerful reminder of connection, performed by Atlanta and directed by Kenny McCracken.

📻 On the Airwaves

All four releases have been played across BBC Radio 2, BBC 1Xtra, and BBC 6 Music, spreading the Shakeable Germ sound far beyond Brighton — infecting airwaves and playlists nationwide.

🧬 The Ethos

Shakeable Germ isn’t a band. It’s an idea — a space for creative collision. A fever that spreads through art, sound, and collaboration.

It’s art. It’s chaos. It’s connection. It was Fun
